At our Denver Campaign event in February 2020, alum Carrie Stallings '19 shared with us a story she told at the 2019 commencement. To honor our 2021 commencement, we are proud to now share this story with you. Carrie came to Grinnell as a first-generation college student, and through her relationship with mentors, classmates, and faculty, she graduated Grinnell as an advocate for the underdog. Learning about our College has uncovered a tradition of humanity and education of which we are proud, though it has also revealed opportunity for betterment.
